Hello, my name is Aaron Osmer, User Support Specialist at the Michigan House of Representatives, working in the field for about 5 years now. I’m 23 years old, married, and I have three beautiful little girls. Two of them were recent additions as of February 2015. I also have my A+ Certification in both Operating Systems and Hardware.

This is a Help Desk position, but it is also much more of that. Including: web development, imaging systems, active directory (unlock/reset user accounts), mobile deployment (iPads and Surface), remote support, new product testing, and most computer related things a user may call about.

My job as an Intern taught me a lot of what I know today. Quite often I was on my own, and would get thrown in situations most interns would never get to experience. What better to learn it then to be throw into a tense situation. I learned a lot about troubleshooting and fixing software or hardware related problems. I also learned a lot about imaging systems with various technologies (Microsoft System Center and Novell Zenworks). Probably one of the most important things was the phone and customer support experience I received.
Believe it or not, working in fast food gives you two very big abilities: customer service and teamwork. Often this job was stressful and fast paced, but it helped me control tense situations I may run into today. From day to day I spent most of my time assisting customers with orders and such, or I would be in the grill area working with someone or leading it myself. I was also a crew trainer, which made me responsible for training new and current employees on proper procedures.
